A Track Day experience
you’ll never forget…

We are offering you your first experience driving around the historic Silverstone GP circuit. If you are a disabled novice track driver and want to experience the thrill of driving around a race circuit, then Spinal Track is for you! Our experiences consist of numerous sessions on track with an instructor giving you all the time you need to soak up your instructor’s knowledge as they teach you about racing lines and how to drive fast whilst maintaining total control of the car.

You will be driving a track-focused car specially adapted for drivers who require hand controls (push pull controls are fitted) or a left foot throttle. Spinal Track will supply all the necessary safety gear, including helmets to enable you to communicate with your instructor in the passenger seat. We ask all participants to be mindful of their clothing, no shorts or hoodies and no oversized boots/shoes. All you need to bring is a valid UK driving licence and a belief that Anything Is Possible!

Please note that no dogs are allowed at Silverstone. Disabled toilets and parking are available on site. Our Track Days are free of charge, but we do ask for a £200 deposit to secure your booking. This can then be refunded after safe completion of the day. Please note that if you require lifting into the car, you will need to bring someone with you to assist with this. Your instructor can help by holding your chair or giving you some light support for transferring into the car, but none of the Spinal Track crew will be able to lift you. All cars have full racing seats which can be tricky to transfer in and out of so we have a sliding board for those that require one. Whilst we try and accommodate as many people as we can, you will need a full UK driving licence and good tricep function to take part (for safety reasons).

Driving sideways on hand controls

NEW FOR 2026!

Based at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone, we are proud to offer the first ever car control programs dedicated to disabled drivers. Learn to control our front and rear wheel drive cars on slippery surfaces. Our instructors will teach you about oversteer and understeer and help you recognise the differences and teach you the skills to initiate, control and correct the art of sliding a car. These skills will be a valuable edition to your road driving journeys and give you the tools you need to be a safer driver when driving in extreme weather conditions.

In both a rear wheel drive car and a front wheel drive car, you’ll get to try the ice hill, the kick plate and the low friction circuit. With experienced instructors, you will spend the day mastering different techniques to make you a safer and more skilled driver whilst also having lots of fun. We challenge you to not have a huge smile on your face as you slip and slide around the fantastic tracks at the Porsche Experience Centre!

When you’re not in the car you’ll be able to chat and socialise with the other drivers on the day. You’ll also get to enjoy the incredible refreshments made by the Porsche catering staff in their state of the art facilities. The building has great viewing points located both inside and outdoors for you to watch your fellow drivers’ sessions. The building has a lift, disabled toilets and lots of space for parking.

Please note that the Porsche Experience Centre is located inside the circuit and no dogs are allowed at Silverstone. Like our Track Days, our Car Control Days are free of charge, but we do ask for a £200 deposit to secure your booking. This can then be refunded after safe completion of the day. We use the same cars for both the Track Days and the Car Control Days therefore, if you require lifting into the car, you will need to bring someone with you to assist with this.

“I learnt heaps! The difference between front and rear wheel drive was perfectly demonstrated. I am not the most confident driver and whether I did ok or not, the instructors made me believe I did. They also encouraged me to have fun, which was hugely appreciated!”

COMMUNITY EVENTS

Realising how important the community aspect of our events was, in 2023 we set up Spinal Track Club for drivers who have participated on one of our days. Membership to the club is free of charge and grants access to a private online forum where people can network and keep in touch with people they have met on our days. Spinal Track Club runs several community events throughout the year including attending motorsport events at Silverstone Circuit, F1 Factory tours and exclusive parties at the Aston Martin Racing F1 Campus and much more!

“Spinal Track not only provided a fabulous experience driving the Silverstone GP circuit with a qualified race instructor who gave me so much encouragement, but they have also formed a fabulous community ”

WOMEN-ONLY EVENTS

Despite the charity being run by a disabled woman, the majority of our drivers are men. In 2023 we started actively trying to increase the number of women who attend our days by hosting women only events. Our very first women only event saw six disabled women take to the wheel of a rally car with the event being filmed by the governing body of motorsport, MSUK. The day was a huge success with five out of the six ladies stating that they felt much more confident trying out rally driving in an all-female event and describing the environment as a ‘safe space’. We now run several all-female driving experiences and community events each year.
