How to apply

We run our track days from March to November at Silverstone Circuit. Bookings are made by messaging our dedicated WhatsApp booking number.

The Spinal Track booking calendar goes live for booking three times a year in Spring, Summer and Autumn.

The date that each booking goes live is announced on our social media channels a week ahead of time. We also have a WhatsApp group you can join where we release the booking dates at the same time as we release them on our social channels. You can join this group by following the instructions below. Once approved, I will add you to the WhatsApp group.

Please provide the following information to apply:

  • Name
  • Details of disability
  • Height and weight
  • Time driving on the road post injury or diagnosis
  • Details of hand controls or adaptations needed
  • Details of previous track driving experience if applicable (if none, please state this)

Please make sure you meet the following criteria:

  • Drivers must have a physical disability that requires them to drive with either push-pull hand controls on the right-hand side of the steering wheel, left foot accelerator or an automatic gearbox needed due to a disability that limits driving to one arm or one leg.
  • Applications are only accepted from drivers, we do not accept applications from third parties.
  • Applicants must be 18 or over.
  • Applicants must hold a current full UK driving licence.
  • Applicants must have six months driving experience on the road using one of the adaptations listed above on a full UK driving licence post injury or diagnosis in order to be eligible for these days.
  • Applicants must declare any visual impairments over and above the need to wear prescriptive lenses. Monocular vision is not compatible with our track days but applicants can apply for our car control days.
  • Applicants must have good tricep function to participate on these days.
  • Applicants applying with CP must specify the type of CP when giving details of their disability.
  • People with any form of Ataxia are not eligible to take part on our driving days.

The Spinal Track phone is not manned so calls will not be answered unless arranged via message. The WhatsApp booking service is for messages only. Text messages outside of WhatsApp will not be answered.

By messaging Spinal Track through our WhatsApp booking service you are agreeing to us storing your data in line with GDPR compliance. If you do not wish for us to store your data, please state this in your message.

Important notes…

All cars are automatic and fitted with push-pull hand controls on the right-hand side of the steering wheel and left foot accelerators.

Please note that not everyone with a valid driving licence is able to participate on our days.

The type of disability and adaptations we can offer may not cater for everyone. Whilst we try to cater for as many disabilities as possible, your safety as well as the safety of our instructors and other track drivers will always remain our priority.

Spinal Track reserves the right to reject applications if deemed not safe for track driving.

If you are below 5ft or above 6ft 3inch, or weigh over 120kg, you may not be able to access our cars. In these instances, we will request that you come for an assessment in one of our cars before we are able to book you on.

Any false information given will prevent the applicant from being able to attend this day and any future days.

Our track days are free of charge but we require a £200 refundable deposit to secure the booking. The £200 will be refunded to drivers after safe completion of the day. We operate a first come first served booking system and your place is not booked until we receive the deposit in our charity bank account. The dates often sell out within a couple of hours of the dates going live so its important to pay promptly once you receive our bank details.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ONCE YOUR DEPOSIT IS PAID YOU CANNOT CHANGE YOUR BOOKING WITHOUT PROOF OF EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES. IF YOU FAIL TO TURN UP TO THE DAY YOUR DEPOSIT WILL BE LOST.

Final Instructions will be sent via WhatsApp after you are booked onto the day.
